Bio

Olga Lane is a self-taught artist based in Utah, inspired by the raw beauty of the American West. Her work captures the quiet strength of open landscapes, wildlife, and wild horses—reflecting both the spirit of the land and her deep connection to it. Working in both plein air and studio settings, Olga paints with a love for natural light, movement, and place.

Though she first explored painting in her twenties, her creative path truly reignited later in life. Now, with every canvas, she seeks to share the sense of peace, wonder, and freedom she finds in nature. Her works are created on canvas and linen using traditional oil techniques, often featuring the wide skies, rugged terrain, and untamed animals of the West.

Artist’s Statement

My work is inspired by the quiet strength and beauty of the American West. I am drawn to open landscapes, desert light, and the presence of animals, especially horses, as symbols of freedom, resilience, and connection to the land.

Working primarily in oil, I focus on capturing atmosphere and stillness: the way light moves across a canyon, the calm moment of a horse at rest, or the subtle harmony between earth, sky, and life. I am less interested in dramatic action and more in creating spaces that feel contemplative and grounded.

Color and texture play an important role in my process. I often soften edges and layer tones to evoke a sense of memory and timelessness rather than a specific moment.

Through my paintings, I hope to invite viewers into a place of quiet reflection—a pause where nature feels both vast and intimate, and where a simple scene can hold something lasting.
